Riot Games has finally announced that the mobile version of Teamfight Tactics will be launched on the 19th March for both Android and iOS playforms.
What Is Teamfight Tactics?
Teamfight Tactics is an auto battler based on Riot Games’ popular MOBA title – League of Legends. It first debuted as a mode for the PC game back in June 2019, and garnered about 80 million players. This game is free-to-play, like its PC counterpart.
According to Riot Games, the mobile version will have full cross-play on the PC. It will also launch with the recently revealed content pack called “Galaxies”. This pack features unique space-themed cosmetics and champions at one’s disposal.
“When we created League of Legends over 10 years ago, we never dreamed it would become this popular with so many players around the world. Now, as League enters its second decade, we’re thrilled to bring an authentic, competitive TFT experience to mobile, the first of many multi-platform efforts players will see this year.”
Marc Merrill, Co-Founder and Co-Chairman at Riot Games.
Compared to the PC version, the mobile version of Teamfight Tactics will have Galaxies Little Legends, themed Arena Skins and Ranked Play right from the get-go. The Galaxies Pass and Pass+, themed Booms!, and new player tutorials will be available when you download it as well. However, the Store and Loot system will be added at a later date.
After spending years focusing on League of Legends alone, Riot is finally branching out into other genres. Teamfight Tactics will be the company’s first mobile release, which will be followed by “League of Legends: Wild Rift”. Apart from that, the company is also working on a team-based shooter, Valorant, which is similar to Overwatch.
