The Apple iPad Pro 2021 Is Powered By M1 Chip; Highest End Variant Priced At RM10,399

Apple today unveiled the latest Apple iPad Pro 2021, alongside the new iMac 2021, Apple AirTag, and the new Purple colourway for the iPhone 12 series. Launched during its “Spring Loaded” event, the new iPad Pro 2021 features a 12.9-inch mini-LED display, and is powered by the same processor found on the latest MacBook and iMac – Apple M1.

The Apple iPad Pro 2021 is powered by the M1 chip, and can be customized with up to 2TB of storage and up to 16GB of RAM. The 8GB RAM variant is only available on the 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB models, while the 16GB RAM variant will have storage options of 1TB and 2TB.

As for the display, it comes in two sizes – 11-inch and 12.9-inch Liquid Retina XDR Display. It offers 1600 nits of peak brightness, along with a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio on the 12.9-inch model. There is also ProMotion available too. Customers will also be offered a 12MP ultra-wide angle sensor on the front for TrueDepth camera, as well as a USB-C port that’s been upgraded with Thunderbolt which allows for higher bandwidth up to 40Gbps.

Connectivity wise, for the first time ever, the Apple iPad Pro 2021 will have 5G connectivity on the Wi-Fi + cellular models, and it will also have Wi-Fi 6 built-in. The device also has four speakers built-in for better surround sound effects, and it is compatible with the Apple Magic Keyboard (11-inch – RM1,349 / 12.9-inch – RM1,549) now available in white, as well as the 2nd generation Apple Pencil 2 (RM549).

As for the accessories, in the box customers will receive a USB-C to C charging cable, along with a 20W USB Type-C power adapter.

No word on availability in Malaysia as of this writing, but pre-orders for the new Apple iPad Pro 2021 will begin in first wave countries (US, Singapore, Australia etc) from the 30th of April. It will go on sale in the second half of May 2021. Colour wise, the Apple iPad Pro 2021 will come in both Space Grey and Silver.
