At its launch for the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro today, Xiaomi Malaysia also unveiled the company’s new Mi True Wireless series of audio devices. There are three devices, and each of them slightly different than the other.
First, there’s the Mi True Wireless Earphones. These are the ones that look the most similar to Apple’s popular Airpods. Of course, these are wireless and offer high-quality audio. Connectivity is done automatically, once paired, it instantly connects with your device everytime it is turned on. You can also use it in single ear mode for when you want to take calls. The sides of the earphones feature touch controls that allow you to adjust the volume, skip tracks, play, and pause.
Next, there’s the Mi True Wireless Earbuds. These are considerably a lot more affordable than the Earphones. It is also wireless with automatic pairing, and features a total of 12 hours of battery life when combined with the capacity from the charging case. The Mi True Wireless Earbuds feature Bluetooth 5.0 and has less touch controls compared to the Wireless Earphones. However, it does have support for voice assistants, like Google.
The most basic and affordable of the bunch, would be the last but not least, the Mi True Wireless Earbuds Basic. Same wireless design with automatic pairing, but instead of touch controls, the earbuds use buttons for simple control instead. Not to worry, connectivity is still done over Bluetooth 5.0 for stability, and it still does support voice assistance.
Pricing and Availability
The Mi True Wireless Earphones will go for RM329, while the Mi True Wireless Earbuds and Mi True Wireless Earbuds Basic will be priced at RM179, and RM99 respectively.
