HONOR has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone, the HONOR 20 Pro. The launch happened at a special press event in London on the 21st of May 2019. Let’s dive straight into the hardware of the device.
The HONOR 20 Pro runs on Huawei’s proprietary flagship processor, the Kirin 980 which features dual AI engines. The device also comes packed with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. With the new Dynamic Holographic technology implemented on the back of the device, the HONOR 20 Pro features a 6.26-inch Full HD+ display, which is rather small for a flagship device.
With the inclusion of the Kirin 980 chip, GPU Turbo 3.0 is made possible for accelerated graphics capability and enhanced gaming performance. To help with overheating issues, the HONOR 20 Pro has a graphene cooling sheet that would help cool down the phone during those long gaming sessions.
In the camera department, the HONOR 20 Pro has a 32MP f/2.0 punch-hole selfie camera on the front. On the back, it’s complimented with a quad camera system featuring a 48MP f/1.4 Sony IMX586 sensor, 16MP f/2.2 super wide-angle camera, 8MP f/2.4 OIS-capable telephoto lens, as well as a 2MP f/2.4 macaro lens.
The 8MP telephoto lens can support from 3x optical zoom to 5x hybrid zoom, and even 30x digital zoom. Besides that, the HONOR 20 Pro is also capable of optical image stabilization (OIS), electronic image stabilization (EIS), AI image stabilization (AIS), and laser autofocus.
Battery on the HONOR 20 Pro is a standard 4,000mAh battery found on most flagship smartphones of today. Supporting Huawei’s own SuperCharge fast charging technology, the HONOR 20 Pro is able to achieve 50% charge in just 30 minutes. When it comes to sound performance, HONOR 20 Pro is able to output virtual 9.1 surround sound that is said to work on almost any headphones and earphones.
The HONOR 20 Pro has been priced at EU599 (approx. RM2,795) but will most likely cost less when it arrives in Malaysia. Will it have the same price as its previous flagship device, ala the HONOR View20? Stay tuned to AXO for more updates on the HONOR 20 Pro’s Malaysian launch.
