iQoo has unveiled its latest flagship, the iQOO Z1 5G. This is the world’s first smartphone that is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000+ SoC. The smartphone also features 144Hz refresh rate display, and a 48MP triple camera setup.
iQOO Z1 5G – Specifications
The MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chip in the iQOO Z1 5G is built on the 7nm process. It bring support for 5G connectivity on both SIM slots. If you’re thinking about its Antutu scores, it recorded a 536,683 points on the benchmarking platform.
The iQOO Z1 5G is also paired with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage of up to 256 GB. For its display, it has a 6.57-inch IPS LCD screen with a punch-hole on the upper right corner. The display also supports HDR10 and DCI-P3 colour gamut, pushing out FHD+ resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. The company claims that more than 100,000 have been optimized to work with its 144Hz display.
Connectivity wise, there is no microSD card expansion. But, it does come with dual SIM connectivity, 5G support, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, GPS, USB Type-C and even a 3.5mm audio jack. For audiophiles, the smartphone will come with dual stereo speakers as well as a smart PA amplifier. And of course, its fingerprint scanner is mounted on the side.
Powering the device is a 4,500mAh battery that supports 44W fast charging. Right out of the box, the iQOO Z1 5G will be running on iQOO UI 1.0 which is based on Android 10.
In the camera department, the iQOO Z1 5G has a 16MP selfie sensor. On the back, you will find the triple camera system which has a:
- 48MP main sensor
- 8MP Ultra-wide sensor
- 2MP macro sensor
These lenses will feature Hyper HDR, human eye-tracking, low-light, as well as ultra-wide photography.
Pricing and Availability
The iQOO Z1 comes in three colours – Space Blue, Galaxy Silver, and Symphony Meteor. The device is currently available only in China, and it will retail at these prices:
- 6GB RAM + 128GB storage – 2,198 Yuan (~RM1,350)
- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage – 2,498 Yuan (~RM1,530)
- 8GB RAM + 256GB storage – 2,798 Yuan (~RM1,710)
The company also announced that it will be selling silicone protective cases and game controller for the Z1 buyers.

- iQOO Wireless Sports Headphones – 299 Yuan
