HONOR 50 lite Review: Sleek Reflective Design With Great Photography Camera Under RM 1,000

HONOR 50 lite Review: Sleek Reflective Design With Great Photography Camera Under RM 1,000 24

HONOR 50 Lite is the latest addition to the HONOR 50 Series that was launched late last year. We have been using the phone for a while now and we think that this is a good review to start of the new year.

HONOR has been overshadowed by it’s sister brand, HUAWEI for the longest time ever. Many may not know that, they have became independent for quite a while now and their devices are really great!

Design

honor 50 lite

The Honoe 50 Lite has a really slim and lightweight body. With just 192g, it feels lighter than it looks. The unit we have comes in a Space Silver which gives off a reflective hue under different light angles. The honor 50 lite has a 3D closed-arc design to provide users a more comfortable and solid grip to the device.

The back of the phone stands out with its prominent quad camera enclosed in a black circle base. Along with that, we have stripes running down the center of the back as part of the design.

As for the front, we have the 6.67 inch HONOR FullView Display with a narrow screen bezel as thin as 1.05mm. Giving the smartphone a 94.4% screen to body ration. The front camera is positioned on the top left of the phone with a punch hole design.

Performance

honor 50 lite

The HONOR 50 lite full view display supports true color display bringing accuracy of color displayed and better clarity on this smartphone. For a smartphone at this price range we were quite surprised that it supports 180Hz touch sampling rate which matters for those who game on mobile.

On the top of the phone, we have a audio jack for classic wired earphones and the earpiece speaker. The buttons are all placed on the right of the smartphone with the volume button on the top and the power button which is also the fingerprint sensor in the middle of the side. The sim card slot is place on the bottom beside the usb charging port.

The HONOR 50 lite is powered by Qualcomm SnapdragonTM 662 (11 nm) processor 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM. Making each swipe and tap smooth as it can be on the smartphone. We tried Genshin Impact on the device and

Packed with 4300mAh battery, the battery can last you a day without charge. For days when you are using the phone for heavy software that drains battery, you are able to charge the battery up to 40% just in 10 min with the 66W HONOR SuperCharge.

Camera

The HONOR 50 lite comes with a 64MP main camera, 8MP wide angle camera, 2MP macro camera and a 2mp depth camera. The quad camera setup allows the smartphone to deliver top tier camera photography quality.

The 64MP main camera captures outdoor photos without losing details even when you zoom in. While the 8MP wide angle camera allows you to capture bigger area with convenience.

Here are some photos we took using the HONOR 50 lite:

As for the front camera, the HONOR 50 lite is equipped with a 16 MP camera. Which captures great selfie images.

Conclusion

The HONOR 50 lite is priced at RM 999 which gives more than you are paying for. Having a big clear screen, processor to run daily apps, battery that last you a whole day and camera that is able to compete with other flagship smartphones available in the market.

To those who are worried that HONOR is affected by the GMS like HUAWEI, fret not, the HONOR device is still running on GMS system and has its own UI called Magic UI.

To me, having to pay less than RM 1,000 for a phone with such specifications is just so reasonable. To those who need a smartphone that is capable and yet does not want to pay a bomb should really consider try the HONOR 50 lite out.
