Design

The Crosshair X670E Hero has a refreshed look when compared to the older Crosshair VIII Hero. You get hefty heatsinks, “Polymo” RGB rear I/O shroud, and tasteful Crosshair branding with chrome finish. Most of the PCB is covered in the heatsink, learning only the connectors visible to the naked eye.
The RGB element has a beautiful dot-matrix illumination that is synonymous with other ROG peripherals. Instead of slapping RGB LEDs at every corner, it is isolated to the rear I/O cover for a playful yet premium look.
Features
The ROG Crosshair X670E has several flagship features from the Crosshair series of motherboards as it was designed for high performance AM5 CPUs such as the Ryzen 7 7900X.
Geared For Overclocking
Top of the line Ryzen Zen 4 CPUs can be quite power hungry, and the Crosshair X670E is ready for that demand. With an eighteen 110A-stage power solution, it opens up massive headroom for hardcore overclockers.
Cooling Prowess

The motherboard is almost completely covered in heatsinks for maximum cooling efficiency. Based on our stress tests, the VRM temperatures hover between 45 to 50°C (ambient is 27°C).
PCIe M.2 Drives

Combined with the included PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot, you can get a maximum of 5 M.2 card slots for tons of storage.
Connectivity Galore

One common complaint of USB connectivity is that lower tiered motherboards use a mix of 2.0 and 3.0 ports at varying speeds. The rear I/O of the Crosshair X670E Hero has 12 USB ports, all at USB 3.2 or USB 4 standard for high speed data transfers.
AURA Sync
Users can utilize the Armoury Crate software to customise the ARGB lighting effects with other supported ROG peripherals and devices.
Final Thoughts
The Crosshair X670E Hero delivers solid performance with all the features and ports that hardcore overclockers demand. With 12 high speed USB ports (two of which is USB 4), PCIe 5.0, this motherboard comes equipped with the latest connectivity standards, reasonably future-proofing itself for future AM5 releases.
