It’s February 28th (February 27th US time), and that means its Pokémon Day. The Pokémon Company has put together a programme to announce a slew of updates and upcoming games for this long celebrated franchise.
In case you missed the live broadcast, we have compiled all the important tid-bits for you below.
Pokémon World Championships

Kicking things off with Pokémon Day is the Pokémon World Championships. Japan will host the first edition tournament. Players of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the Pokémon trading card game, and Pokémon Unite will compete at the Pacifico Yokohama, from August 11 to 13. Fans who cannot attend in person can watch the live broadcast of the event as well.
Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic

The company is re-releasing the original Pokémon trading card game, first launched back in 1996 in a deluxe package. Pokémon Trading Card Game Classic is expected to launch in late 2023.
Pokémon Concierge — Netflix Original Series
Netflix and The Pokémon Company has announced Pokémon Concierge, an original series to be released on the streaming platform. The series will use stop motion animation, and takes place at a Pokémon resort. It will feature Haru and Psyduck, as they meet other Pokémon and trainers on vacation.
Zacian Is Coming To Pokémon Unite

Zacian, the legendary Pokémon is coming to Pokémon Unite. To celebrate Pokémon Day, fans of the game can use code “POKEMONDAY” to claim a special item.
Sprigatito, Quaxly, and Fuecoco Joins Pokémon Cafe Remix

The abovementioned Pokémon will be coming to Pokémon Cafe Remix. You can also get a free in-game outfit for chef Greninja as part of Pokémon Day celebrations.
Pokémon Sleep
A new mobile game called Pokémon Sleep has been announced. This game rewards you for getting a good night’s sleep. By leaving your smartphone by your bed, your sleep will be recorded and analysed. Pokémon that have similar sleep patterns as yours will then gather around Snorlax.
Pokémon Go Plus + Accessory
This accessory can be used with Pokémon Go and Pokémon Sleep. When placed beside your bed, it can record your sleep data. When you carry it around, it will automatically help you catch Pokémon in Pokémon Go.
Updates & DLC For Pokémon Scarlet And Violet

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will see the arrival of Paradox Pokémon. Walking Wake, a shiny bull-like Pokémon, will appear in Scarlet, while Iron Leaves, which looks like a deer, will be in Pokémon Violet.

Today will see an update roll out for Pokémon Go players to connect their game to Scarlet and Violet. The company also announced that Pokémon Home will support Scarlet and Violet in early 2023.
The Pokémon Company has also announced two DLCs for Pokémon Scarlet And Violet. The first DLC is called “The Teal Mask”, and is expected to arrive in Fall 2023. Part 2, “The Indigo Disk,” will come out in winter 2023.
In Part 1, players will visit the land of Kitakami as part of a school trip. In part 2, players will be exchange students at Blueberry Academy.

Two Legendary Pokémon called Ogrepon and Terapagos will be introduced in this DLC. The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero will be available to pre-order in the Nintendo eShop later today.
