Xiaomi has announced the Poco X5 5G and Poco X5 5G Pro smartphone, which will launch in Malaysia within this week. The Poco X5 and X5 Pro are equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 and 778G processors respectively. Both phones also come with 5G.
Poco X5 Pro 5G
The Poco X5 Pro 5G runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor, with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It has a 6.67 inch AMOLED display at Full HD+ resolution, with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate. The screen itself has a peak brightness of 900 nits, 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.
The biggest upgrade over the Poco X4 Pro is the addition of a 108MP”Pro-grade” main camera. It is flanked by an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies, the front facing camera is 16MP.
The Pro model gets dual speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, 802.11ax WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging.
Poco X5 5G
On the other hand, the Poco X5 gets a more modest Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor, with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. The device has up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. There is also a microSD expandable storage up to 1TB.
It is also equipped with a 120Hz 6.67 inch AMOLED display, at a lower contrast ratio of 4,500,000:1, but with a higher 1200 nits peak brightness. It is also protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
In terms of imaging, it gets a 48MP triple camera instead. The selfie camera at the front is 13MP.
The Poco X5 is powered by the 5,000mAh battery, with 33W fast charging. It also supports sub-6GHz 5G, WiFi 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 5.1.
