Genshin Impact developer, HoYoVerse has confirmed yesterday (Thursday) that the game has dropped Elliot Gindi as voice actor for Tighnari “due to a breach of contract”. The company has further clarified that Tighnari’s voice lines will be gradually replaced with a new cast.

“After communications with the voice recording agency, we hereby confirm that Elliot Gindi, the English voice actor for Tighnari will no longer be voicing the character in subsequent versions due to a breach of contract,” HoYoverse said in a statement posted on the official Genshin Impact Facebook account.
Elliot Gindi Sexual Misconduct Allegations
The voice actor was previously accused of abusive behaviour, blackmail, sexism, and having sexual relations with underage fans.
On Tuesday (7 February) the voice actor announced on his personal Twitter account that he will be taking a break from his online activity to seek therapy.
What’s Next For Tighnari?

HoYoverse further explained that that they are working with their voice recording agency to recast and re-record Tighnari’s voice lines. The company will also gradually replace existing voice lines, and issue these updates in future announcements.
