Infinix Hot 20 series is the latest smartphone from Infinix. The brand made its way back in the Malaysian market not long ago. To those whom already know this brand would know they they have been quiet in the Malaysian market for a while and the Hot 20 series definitely made its mark in the smartphone market.
Outlook Infinix Hot 20
The Infinix Hot 20 is an entry-level smartphone that made to cater the need of young adults. It comes in four colorways, Sonic Black, Tempo Blue, Fantasy Purple and the Legend White. The color we have for review is the Legend White, with a silver frame and white gloss back.
Instead of a metal or bulging piece like some other phone brands, Infinix Hot 20 highlighted their camera lens with a slightly different white tone that is barely visible at some angles. The camera lenses are very distinctive while it does not protrude much compared to some other phones.
On the right side of the screen, we have the volume button and the power button sitting right below it. Most phones with fingerprint power button designs the button to be slightly sink in, the power button on the Infinix Hot 20 is slightly protruding like a normal power button but it is lower compared to the volume button. This causes unwanted accidental touch on the power button from time to time if you use it without a case. With the given tpu clear casing, it aids a little bit as the case itself has a hole over the power button that sort of hides the button from accidental touch.
At the bottom of the phone, you will find an audio jack port, mic, USB C charging port and speaker grill. On the front, you will find a punch hole front camera right in the middle on the top of the display.
Overall, the Infinix Hot 20 had quite a premium feel and touch to the smartphone’s body for an entry-level phone. For a smartphone at this size, it is superlight weight which is great for long handheld sessions and not adding weight to your handbag or pocket.
Performance
The Infinix Hot 20 is targeted for the young adults whom casually game on their phone. It promises a fluid display and best experience with an affordable price tag.
The phone features a 6.82-inch display with an 90% screen to body ratio providing a clear viewing experience. Pairing it with the DTS Dual Speaker, watching video and consuming content on the smartphone with stereo sounds is a pleasant experience. Its battery life is highly capable of long hours of binge watching your favorite anime/series do watching a stream of your favorite streamer with anti-lag connection supported by the LinkPlus 1.0 that switches seamlessly between wireless and mobile data usage.
The smartphone features the latest MediaTek G85 chip which improves the performance for affordable smartphones. The phone comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM and could be extended up to 11GB RAM with Extended RAM Technology for a better experience for a heavy usage user.
The Infinix Hot 20 relies a lot on optimization just to enable the phone to run smoothly. To have a better gaming experience, XArena uses the Dar link 2.0 engine to optimize gameplay. While using the Hot 20 device around our day, we notice a constant stagger and lag when it is receiving several notifications.
As much as the display is capable of high refresh rate and higher touch sampling, it is not at its best due to the lack of processing power. However, do keep in mind that it is an entry-level smartphone. For those who game, the phone is capable of handling your games as long as you optimize it. With game optimization, the smoothness of the gameplay is pretty noticeable.
We tried quite few processor and graphic demanding games on the phone like Genshin Impact, Torchlight Infinite, Honkai Impact 3, and Pokemon Go. The Infinix Hot 20 performed quite well for all of the games, it may not be running on the highest graphic settings. It is smooth enough to enjoy the game without disturbance. However, Genshin Impact is rather too heavy to run smoothly on the device.

It’s 50MP Super Nightscape Camera is able to deliver HD images on low light conditions. Sure there are a slight noise in the photos, but it still look great to be posted on social media platforms.
