Design

Then HONOR X9 has a very sleek design with a very distinctive round camera bump sitting in the center of the back casing of the phone. This design is not strange to the android smartphone design as it was once use by Huawei as well as Nokia few years back. The review unit we have is in titanium silver. The texture of the phone casing is smooth and nice to hold with its matte texture. Being matte, you will be able to keep the phone clean off fingerprints and stains at least for the back casing.
With most smartphones that comes with a side camera bump, I loved that even though it has a big camera piece. Being in the middle gives it a more balance to the weight of the phone.
The HONOR X9 comes with a 6.81′ ultra HD full screen which gives it s 94% screen to body ratio that is big and comfortable to look at. The display also has 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate which is definitely a plus point for game lovers like me and those whom love to watch their videos or movies on the go.
HONOR kept all its buttons on the right side of the display where we have the volume button on the top and the power button which also acts as a fingerprint sensor just right below the volume control. Both button placing are perfect in place without having to adjust your hand to reach either of the buttons to navigate.
On the bottom, we have the USB C port for charging, sim card slot on the left and the speaker grill on the right.
User Experience
Using it for quite a long period of time, I find that the HONOR X9 did not give up battery life for performance. Launching every app smoothly without lag, and being able to be used through out the day without having to plug in a powerbank is such a comforting thought.
The HONOR X9 is powered by the strong Qualcomm Snapdragon® 6nm 5G SoC which makes high performance and low power consumption possible. Aside from that, HONOR”s RAM Turbo RAM Extended can easily use the 2GB ROM to expand its existing 8GB RAM storage to run heavy task smoothly.
Talking about battery life, the HONOR X9 packs a 4800mAh battery and with its HONOR AI smart power saving technology it brings us roughly 13 hours of constant media playback and is able to sustain you through your day with calls, social media scrolling, work, messages, casual gaming and so much more. While low on battery, the 66W HONOR Super charge is put to test and it is able to charge the battery up to 81% in just half n hour which is incredible.
Camera

With such a big camera piece that takes our attention, my inner self screams “it better be good”. The camera piece houses there camera lens. The three combined HD cameras up to 48MP (48MP camera + 2MPdepth camera + macro camera) is optimized with their own imaging algorithm to produce incredible images.
Here’s some of the images we captured using the rear camera on the HONOR X9:
Conclusion
Priced at RM 1,299, I personally think that the HONOR X9 is quite a catch for those whom are looking for a high performance smartphone and has great photography capabilities. At such a price point, we are really surprise at how compete-able it is compared to its competitors in the same price range. Where some of them could not even pack in the 120Hz refresh rate screen which is demanded from the consumers market right now.
To those whom are interested in the HONOR X9, you can now pre-order from their online official store, Lazada or Shopee and it comes with free gifts worth RM 516 when you pre-order it now.
