OPPO Malaysia today announced not only the OPPO Reno5 F, but the new OPPO Band fitness band as well. Adding to the OPPO Reno5 series and the company’s wearable lineup, both devices were unveiled at a physical event along with a livestream on Facebook, complete with performances from local celebrities – Loca B and MK K-Clique.

Under the hood, the OPPO Reno5 F is powered by a MediaTek Helio P95 Octa-core Processor, paired with 8GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD). For its display, it has a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. There’s also an in-display fingerprint 3.0 sensor for quick logins.
In the camera department, the OPPO Reno5 F features a quad camera system on the rear, which includes a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera, 2MP macro camera and a 2MP mono camera. Of course, selfies are just as important to users, so the other side of the phone is accented by 32MP front-facing camera. The camera system also comes complimented with several features like AI Color Portrait Video , Dual-View Video, EIS Steady Video, Dynamic Bokeh, Night Flare Portrait, and Soloop’s quick editing suite.
The OPPO Reno5 F measures only 7.8mm, and it weighs only 172g. On the back, it features a 3D curved battery cover, and it comes designed with the Flowing Light concept in two mesmerizing colours.
The OPPO Reno5 F is juiced up by a 4,310mAh battery, that supports 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 via USB Type-C. According to OPPO, a full 100% charge takes just 56 minutes. To help with gaming, the phone also features Game Focus Mode, Gaming Shortcut Mode, Game Floating Window, and Bullet Screen Message to reduce distractions while you’re gaming.
OPPO Band
The OPPO Band features a 1.1-inch AMOLED screen that shows vivid colours while keeping battery life intact. It covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, and can showcase a maximum of 50 characters within the screen.
For a smart band of this price, the OPPO Band also has continuous SpO2 (blood oxygen) monitoring, which tracks the variable oxygen levels in your blood. It can also be monitored to measure sleep quality and duration. Real-time heart rate monitoring is also available, allowing you to track any abnormalities in your heart rate.
For fitness junkies, the OPPO Band has 12 workout modes including a new Fat Burn Run mode that is designed to help you burn off extra fat more efficiently. The band also comes with phone-linked features like smart notifications, text reading, music player, weather, alarm, timer, camera control, and more.
In terms of customization, the OPPO Band also has customizable watch faces, with 5 of them already pre-installed on the OPPO Band. Additional ones can be downloaded from the HeyTap Health app. For protection, the band does come with 50-meter water resistance, and it’s totally safe for you to bring it for swimming sessions.
Battery life wise, according to OPPO, the OPPO Band can last up to 12 days of use, and the magnetic charging dock is included in the box.
Pricing And Availability
The OPPO Reno5 F is available starting from the 15th April 2021 in Malaysia and will come in two colors including Fluid Black and Fantastic Purple. The devices come with an 8GB RAM + 128G storage configuration, priced at RM 1,199. It will be available at My OPPO Space, OPPO Brand Stores, OPPO Official Online Store, OPPO Telco Partners, OPPO authorised dealers and OPPO E-comm partners.
As for the OPPO Band, it has been given a price tag of RM159, and comes in two colours – Lavender and Black.
