Design
The Oppo A92 comes in a unique OPPO Glow design with Glowing Rainbow Silver. As much as it is a big phone with a 6.43-inch AMOLED FHD+ punch-hole display, it weighs only 175g and 7.95mm thin. The phone is comfortable to hold and use. However, for someone like me whom like smaller sized phones I find that it occupies quite a bit of space in my handbag.
On the left of the camera body, we have the sim card slot on the top and the volume button sitting right below it. On the right would be the power button. While on the bottom of the frame, it has an audio jack port, USB-C Charging port, microphone and speaker.
Camera
The Oppo A95 features a 458MP triple camera set-up which rear camera consist of a 48MP main camera, 2MP depth camera and 2MP macro camera. On the front, we have a 16MP selfie camera.
As much as this falls in as a budget phone, OPPO’s proprietary image processing algorithm allows you to capture high-quality images. The AI optimizes imaging settings tailored to specific scenes such as pet, food, sceneries and so on. We took the A95 around for indoor and outdoor shooting and here’s what we captured with it.
As for the selfie camera, OPPO has always been known for it’s great selfie camera. Instead of using 3rd party apps, Oppo’s selfie camera comes with their own AI Beautification effects based on ambient environment. You can adjust smoothening and brightening effects as you like with the built in tool.
With their night mode, you can still capture clear selfies in dark environments which is definitely a great feature to have to get that selfie right at night.
Performance
The Oppo A95 comes with a 90.8% screen to body ratio AMOLED display. It supports up to 2400×1800 FHD+ resolution, but capped at 60Hz refresh rate. Watching videos and surfing the internet is quite the pleasure with the big and clear screen. However, playing games that are able to go up to 120Hz nowadays is quite demanding for the A95.
The OPPO A95 features a Qualcomm ® Snapdragon TM 662 processor and a large 8 GB RAM 128 GB ROM configuration for super smooth performance. Users can also choose to convert ROM space to virtual RAM to run processes smoothly using the RAM expansion technology.
Packed with 5000mAh battery, you can bring the phone around for the whole day without worrying about having to charge up the phone. Constantly watching videos or browsing online stores throughout the day was not a problem for me at all. Even when I was using the A95 for photography and videography, the battery was able to last me till the end of the day.
With Oppo 33W Flash Charge, emergency charging for just about 5 mins is enough for you to go around half a day if you are not a heavy user. With flash charge, many might be worried that charging it might deplete the battery life faster or cause the device to heat up.
The Oppo A95 comes with AI Night Charge where overtime, the device learns your approx sleeping pattern and chargers the device to 80% and continue to charge just before you wake up to make sure it does not overcharge the battery. Oppo mentioned that the device comes with charging heat control with a graphite tube dissipation design in the device itself to improve hear dissipation. So far, I did not have any problem with heating issues while using the phone during charge.
Conclusion
The OPPO A95 is now available for RM 1,099 from Shopee, Lazada and Oppo Official Store. At this price point, the A95 is definitely a great smartphone to get if you are looking for a device for daily use and still get quality photos out of your device. It is also a great gift for elderly at home as it has a large screen for them to watch videos and read on the smartphone as smaller devices sometimes do trouble them to squeeze their eyes to see what’s being displayed on screen.
