Mastering Cat Photography With The Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G

Note20 Ultra 5G

If you’ve been following our YouTube channel, you would know that I have two cats with me and they’d quite often appear in several of my videos. As a cat owner, I love taking photos and videos of them but as you know, cats are mysterious, spontaneous creatures. First, you’re patting them on the head, next they’re sinking their teeth into your toe. Every time I’d try to take a picture, they’re always running around and they just won’t stand still.

Single Take | Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G

This brings us to today’s topic – mastering the art of cat photography/videography with the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G. Why the Note20? Cause it’s the only Samsung device we have in the studio AND because it has the SINGLE TAKE feature! Let’s go!

Single Take is a proprietary photo/video mode that was first introduced on the Galaxy S20 series. Flagship Samsung devices do have it as well, and it is also available on previous Galaxy series devices when they’ve been upgraded to Android 10. The Note20 Ultra is one of those devices, and so we’re going to be using it to capture the cats in their “natural habitat”.

Meet cat number 1, Miya. She loves sleeping, proud of the fact that she’s fat and chubby, and a true princess at heart. She always plays hard to get, but you can actually deep down she does love you.

Meet cat number 2, Minna. She hates being carried, has a very slim bodyline, always has her food taken from Miya, and she has a mean catwalk that’d put any supermodel to shame (okay, that was an exaggeration).

So, what you’re gonna wanna do is to open up the Camera app on your Samsung smartphone, and swipe to the right to access the Single Take mode. The UI isn’t all that different, and the only thing left to do is aim your camera at your cat, and just press the shutter button. It’s kind of like recording a video, and it will go on for about 10 seconds. So, you just need to move around with your cat and try to get their attention.

What happens when you’ve pressed the shutter button is the camera would be taking multiple photos and videos in various formats simultaneously. So what you see as “recording a video”, is actually the camera multitasking in the background to curate a variety of styles, angles and formats. This includes photos with different filters, videos, looped videos, gifs, and more.

Once the ten seconds is up, give the smartphone a little time to process your photos and videos, and then, they should appear in your gallery under one collection. From here, you can browse through all the creations taken by you with the assistance of the Single Take mode. You’re bound to find one you like, and for those that need a little touch-up, you can always edit them with the complete editing suite that’s available right in the Note20 Ultra itself. To make the editing process even easier, simply pull out the S-Pen for pinpoint accuracy!

Here are some of the photos and videos taken with the Single Take feature on the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra 5G:

It’s pretty easy, right? So if you have a Samsung device, fire up your camera app and be a master photographer in capturing your cats. Edit those images right from your smartphone and your cats instantly become social-media worthy, ready for their big debut.
