The Genshin Impact 1.5 update has officially been announced by Mihoyo, and it will arrive as soon as 28th of April, alongside the launch of the PS5 version of the game. The announcement came rather early this time around, being 2 weeks earlier instead of the usual 3-day prior to the update. The update brings about Zhongli’s banner re-run, new characters Eula and Yanfei, Homeworld system, and more!
Genshin Impact 1.5 Update – Beneath The Light Of Jadeite
This time around, the Genshin Impact 1.5 update trailer we’re offered focuses heavily on the new weekly boss – Azhdaha. It was also revealed that Azhdaha was an Archon that Zhongli had sealed up in the past, and now he’s broken free. We also get to see the new characters – Eula and Yanfei. Speaking of new characters, let’s meet them.
Eula is a new 5-star character that wields a claymore, and uses the cryo element. She is the Spindrift Knight and Captain of the Knights of Favonius Reconnaissance Company. She has a cool exterior, with elegant claymore moves, dealing AoE damage, and increases her resistance to interruption with her Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst.
Yanfei is a new 4-star character that uses a catalyst, and she dons the pyro element. She’s kind of like a 4-star version of Klee, and like all Liyue Harbor characters, her name is pronounced as “Enhi” in Japanese. She was born in Liyue during peacetime, being half human, half illuminated beast. She dedicated her life to studying, interpreting, and advising her clients on Liyue’s laws. She is also the second playable half illuminated beast character, right after Ganyu.
There are a total of three new bosses in Genshin Impact 1.5 update. First up, is none other than the “Lord of Vishaps”, Azhdaha. He is a huge monster, which had his seal removed, and has the ability to change elements in between fight. He can change between pyro, electro, hydro, as well as cryo, and transform the battlefield terrain too. His domain is also huge, so there’s bound to be a lot of running while going up against him.
The next boss is another hypostasis, and this time it’s the Cryo Hypostasis, which can be found in Dragonspine. The Cryo Hypostasis will be dropping a new type of cryo character ascension material (most likely for Eula), and its attack patterns have some similarity with Azhdaha and the Electro Hypostasis.
Last but not least, we have the Abyss Lector: Violet Lightning. This boss is similar to the Abyss Herald, which uses the Hydro element. Instead of the Hydro Element, the Abyss Lector uses the Electro element, and will be a boss within the Floor 12 of Spiral Abyss.
Hangouts Event Series 2
The ever popular Hangouts event series will be getting a part 2 in Genshin Impact 1.5 update, and this time we’ll be getting part 1 of Diona’s hangouts, as well as part 2 of Noelle’s Hangouts quest.
Serenitea Pot System (Housing)
The Serenitea Pot System is a new terrain for players to explore as they own it! After completing the relevant quest, players will be given a mystical teacup, which allows you to enter your homeworld. In your homeworld, you can gather or buy materials, and exchange them for decor pieces to build and create your own furniture and buildings to decorate your world.
There will also be a Teapot Spirit, Tubby, within your homeworld, where you can earn Trust Rank points to gain more decorations, primogems, materials, and more. You can also earn Realm currency to exchange for different items and furnishings. Chubby, the realm merchant will also appear from time to time selling special limited items.
Players can also request to visit another player’s homeworld, and check out what they’ve been up to in terms of Genshin Impact decorating. In a future update, Mihoyo also mentioned that players will be able to add characters that they own into the homeworld for further interactions.
Energy Amplifier Initiation
In the Energy Amplifier event, players will be given an ancient relic, and they’ll be able to scavenge for energy amplifiers that will give them effects in combat. The amount of buffs you can apply are limited due to the Motive Force, but you can request help from your friends to increase the Motive Force, which also increases the number of buffs you get.
Clear out the enemies surrounding the fragments to get fragment fruits. Once you’re ready with your buffs, you can challenge stronger level opponents for more prizes. At the end of the event, players will also receive Diona for free, similar to the Fischl event we had before this in ver 1.1 update.
Battlefront: Misty Dungeon
In Misty Dungeon, players will be able to take on specialized domains using only characters that are provided by the game. Each domain will have different puzzles and tricks, which players will need to bring the right characters to solve these puzzles. Once the Misty Dungeon is completed, players can win multiple prizes including Primogems, Mora, Hero’s Wit, and more.
Do note that elemental reactions are not allowed, as well as food, buffs are prohibited as well.
In Mimi Tomo, the merchant trail had some news where an “unusual Hilichurl” has been gathering fellow hilichurls out in the wild to cause some trouble on the merchant route. With the help of Ella Musk, players will get to speak to Hilichurls to get the information they need to find the “Unusual Hilichurl”. Once you’ve found him, defeat him, and earn decoration items for the Serenita Pot System, on top of the Primogems, Mora rewards and etc.
In Windtrace, this is a casual game of hide and seek in Genshin Impact style. Players can choose to hide or to seek in five different terrains. Players who seek, will need to find the hiding player. But the fun is when you’re the one hiding. Hiders will be able to camouflage and transform into objects to hide themselves from being caught. There are also different secret favours that will help the players in the game.
Players will also be able to get Windtrace points by playing the game, and exchanging them for different prizes.
Similar to the Leyline Overflow event back in ver 1.3, in Genshin Impact 1.5 update, players will get a double talent book drop for the first 3 talent book claims daily. This event should likely last for a week.
New Archon Quest
In Genshin Impact 1.5 update, players will get to continue part 2 of Zhongli’s Archon Quest, who is the first character in the game to get a part 2 to their story. We will also be getting part 1 of Eula’s story quest.
In Genshin Impact 1.5 update, Zhongli’s banner will be coming first, which is on the 27th of April, right after Childe’s banner ends. Yanfei, the 4-star pyro character will be joining the fray in Zhongli’s banner with a huge drop rate boost.
After Zhongli’s banner is done, Eula’s banner will then arrive. 4-star characters for both banner are unknown yet except for Yanfei, but we do know both banner durations are 3 weeks.
So far, there aren’t any weapons revealed yet in Genshin Impact 1.5 update, but we did see a glimpse of Eula’s new signature sword, the 5-star Sword of Rain and Song (I hope I got that name correct).
New Artifacts / New Domains
A new domain will also be introduced in Genshin Impact 1.5 update – Ridge Watch, which will also bring about two new artifact sets:
Tenacity of the Millelith
- 2-piece Bonus: HP +20%
- 4-piece Bonus: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, the ATK of all nearby party members is increased by 20% and their shield strength is increased by 30% for 3s. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s. This effect can still be triggered even when the character who is using this artifact set is not on the field.
- 2-piece Bonus: Physical DMG + 25%
- 4-piece Bonus: When an Elemental Skill hits an opponent, ATK is increased by 9% for 7s. This effect stacks up to 2 times and can be triggered once every 0.3s. Once 2 stacks are reached, the 2-set effect is increased by 100%.
Quality of Life Improvements
In the Genshin Impact 1.5 update, we will get several quality of life improvements. Compiling from the livestream, and the developer’s discussion, players will see these changes:

- Tackling domains in a co-op session, will double the companionship experience when claiming rewards. (20 –> 40)
- Limited-time events will have mail reminder before event expiration.
- Ability to manage/delete unnecessary language packs for better storage management.
Right after the hosts said their goodbyes for the Genshin Impact 1.5 update livestream, they made a surprise return and showcased a few concept art for the new Electro region, Inazuma. What’s even better is that players are treated to their first look of Baal, the Electro Archon, who was also the surprise guest to introduce her hometown to the travelers of Teyvat. Even though her character was portrayed in Chibi style, we roughly get to see what the Electro Archon looks like.
Alongside the Genshin Impact 1.5 update, miHoYo will also be releasing the native PS5 version of Genshin Impact on the same day. So console players who are already on PS5, get ready to update your console to enjoy 4K resolution, enhanced textures, and faster loading times!
That’s all for the Genshin Impact 1.5 Update! Are you excited? Will you be pulling for Zhongli, Eula, or Yanfei? Ready to decor your own homeworld? Heart racing to see Inazuma? No release date yet for Inazuma, but we’re really glad with how the concept art looks.
