Edifier today announced two new speakers to their audio lineup. These speakers include the Edifier R2850DB multimedia speakers and the Edifier R1700BTs bookshelf speakers. Different price points, for different audiences.
Edifier R2850DB
The new Edifier R2850DB speaker comes with three dedicated speaker units for their respective sound frequencies. These include a ¾ inch tweeter unit for highs, a 4-inch mid-range driver for mid-range frequency, and of course an 8-inch sub-woofer for deep lows.
The Edifier R2850DB speaker also has an electronic cross over to ensure all frequency is well isolated and delivers the corresponding frequency. The speaker is capable of achieving a peak of 150W of power, complete with a built-in Class-D amplifier together with a dedicated DSP (digital signal processing) unit.
Encasing the speakers are MDF (medium-density fibreboard) wood, which are strong enough to endure daily wear and tear, as well as remaining flexible to allow sound to travel within the speaker compartment.
Connectivity wise, the Edifier R2850DB speakers has a full range of input options from Line in, Optical, Coaxial, to Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity with support for Qualcomm aptX codec. Comes with the box is also a wireless remote control that goes along with the side panel audio control, giving you more ways to control the speaker, regardless of where you are in the room.
Edifier R1700BTs
The new Edifier R1700BTs speaker is essentially an upgraded version of the original R1700BT with a new and improved Bluetooth module. It now supports Bluetooth 5.0 and Qualcomm aptX high-quality audio transmission. It also now has a built-in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Dynamic Range Control (DRC) to prevent audio distortion. Besides that, it utilizes the 19mm “Eagle Eye” dome tweeters, which gives you extra clarity when it comes to highs.
The speaker also has 4-inch bass drivers in each speaker to produce deeper lows, and clearer highs. Working with the front-facing bass reflex port, bass is emphasized to have more power and kick.
Aesthetics and functionality wise, the Edifier R1700BTs is encased in walnut vinyl, angled at a 10-degree angle to direct the sound towards you. On top of the side panel audio controls, in the box you will also find a wireless remote control too.
Pricing And Availability
The Edifier R1700BTs speakers and Edifier R2850DB speakers are now available for purchase on Edifier’s official Lazada store, as well as major retail stores. The speakers are priced at RM599 and RM1,199 respectively.
