According to Intel, the company describes it as a huge improvement from its already old 14nm process node. The lineup also features improved single-threaded performance, made to assist laptop brands to achieve balance in both gaming and productivity.

The new 11th gen CPUs also introduces support for PCIe 4.0, Thunderbolt 4, as well as Intel’s Killer AX1675 Wi-Fi 6E modem. Intel’s new Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0 is also supported, allowing laptops to achieve up to 19% gen-on-gen multi-threaded performance improvement.

When we dive deeper into the specifications, Intel mentioned that the new architecture allows for up to 5GHz on two cores, and up to 4.5GHz on all eight cores – mostly for its higher-end Intel Core i9-11980HK mobile CPU. Apart from that, the new Tiger Lake H lineup also supports 44 platform PCIe lanes, and up to 20 PCIe Gen 4 lanes that can be combined with Intel’s Rapid Storage Technology’s (RST) RAID 0 feature.

The new 11th Gen Intel Core H series CPUs have already started to launch in markets starting today, and their actual availability will solely depend on the brand’s AiB partners. E.g. ASUS, MSI, Lenovo, and more.
