Xiaomi today announced two new entry-level smartphones for the Malaysian market, and they are the Redmi 9A and also Redmi 9C. These smartphones are pretty similar to the Realme C11 launched on the same day.
Redmi 9A
The Redmi 9A comes with a 6.53-inch screen with a HD+ resolution. Powered by a MediaTek Helio G25 chipset, the device has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery that charges via microUSB instead of USB Type-C. For photos and videos, the device has a single 13MP main sensor, and a 5MP sensor on the front for selfies.
Redmi 9C
As for the Redmi 9C, it has the same 6.53-inch screen with HD+ resolution, but has a beefier MediaTek Helio G35 processor. Ram and storage configurations are also the same at 2GB and 32GB respectively. In the camera department, it has a triple camera system which consists of a 13MP main sensor, a 2MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 2MP macro sensor. On the front, you’ll find a 5MP sensor for selfies. On the back, there’s also a fingerprint sensor where the Redmi 9A doesn’t come with one.
Pricing and Availability
Xiaomi Malaysia will start offering the Redmi 9A starting from the 7th of July at the price of RM359. As for the Redmi 9C, it will only be offered towards the end of July at the price of RM429.
