After the Vivo Y30, here comes the Vivo Y50, the company’s latest mid-segment smartphone. The launch will be happening in June, and it will be an online exclusive. The company claims that the smartphone will be priced below RM1,000.
Vivo Y50
The vivo Y50 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. For its display, it has a 6.53-inch IPS LCD Ultra O Screen display, which has a screen-to-body ratio of 90.77%. It has FHD+ resolution with a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and 800 nits of peak brightness.
In the camera department, the Vivo Y50 has an AI quad camera setup which comprises of a 13MP main sensor, 8MP super wide-angle sensor, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP bokeh sensor. On the front, there is a 16MP sensor for selfies, which is housed in the keyhole notch on the top left of the front display.
Powering the Vivo Y50 is a large 5,000mAh battery that is capable of 15W fast charging via USB Type-C. The phone also features the Multi-Turbo 3.0 feature that improves app launch speeds. It will run on FunTouch OS 10, which is based on Android 10.
Pricing and Availability
The Vivo Y50’s launch will only take place in June, so we’ll have to wait till then for the official pricing and specs. For reference, the 8GB RAM version of the Y50 is currently selling at RM1,099.
