Telegram Adds 2GB File Sharing Feature

Telegram

Telegram has announced several new features for its mobile app; chief of which is the addition of 2GB file sharing feature. The addition of this feature will indeed be beneficial for users who want to share large files through the app, without using other services like Drive or Dropbox.

Telegram Now Supports 2GB Size File Sharing

Prior to this, ever since its inception in 2014, Telegram has supported transfer of files sizes up to 1.5GB. This time round, the company is adding 500MB more into the aforementioned file transfer ‘size allowance’. The company mentioned that “from now on, you can send unlimited numbers of media files of any kind – up to 2GB each.” Hopefully, this increase in transfer size wouldn’t be abused by irresponsible users for illegal means.

Other notable updates that will be introduced in the Telegram mobile app include: profile videos, improved people nearby, mini-thumbnails, chat filters, animated emojis, group stats, and multiple account support (up to three accounts). Head on over to the company’s official website to know more about these new updates.
