Back in Q4 of 2019, music streaming service, Spotify revealed that the company was testing a new feature where the app would real-time lyrics to various songs in various markets. It is the end of June (literally, as of the time of writing), and Spotify is ready to launch the feature to 26 different markets, in partnership with Musixmatch.
Spotify Real-Time Lyrics
Currently, Spotify in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Mexico already has support for lyrics via other providers. And now, 22 new markets out of the 26 will get the feature for the very first time. Here’s the full list of countries that will get the feature:
- Hong Kong
- Singapore
- Vietnam
- Malaysia
- Thailand
- Taiwan
- Philippines
- India
- Mexico
- Chile
- Brazil
- Colombia
- Peru
- Costa Rica
- Ecuador
- Guatemala
- El Salvador
- Argentina
- Dominican Republic
- Honduras
- Nicaragua
- Paraguay
- Uruguay
Interesting enough, Canada was also one on countries to test the feature, but it will not get the feature on launch day. Maybe they will receive it a little later.
For those who are lucky enough to be in the countries listed above, all you need to do to access the feature is to go to your “Now Playing” screen, and tapping on the “Lyrics” option at the bottom. All lyrics will be displayed in the language that the song is in.
Spotify Real-Time Lyrics feature will go live on Spotify on the 30th of June, 10PM GMT+8.
