SEGA is celebrating its 60th anniversary by launching a miniaturized version of its classic game gear console, the SEGA Game Gear Micro. The Classic Game Gear was once a popular handheld gaming console that was considered much more advance that its competitor at that time, Nintendo’s Game Boy in the 1990’s.
SEGA Game Gear Micro: Design and Size
While trying to revive this console, the Game Gear Micro is ridiculously miniaturized to a size smaller than a credit card with a screen measuring approximately 1.15′ inch. Like the Classic Game Gear, it comes with a radial button and duo-button control that sits next to the 32-bit back-lit color display. It comes with a small speaker on the bottom right, “GAME GEAR” and “SEGA” branding etched to the screen to complete its nostalgic design.
The Sega Game Gear Micro can be powered by two AAA batteries or by plugging in a micro USB cable instead of six AA batteries that powers its predecessor.

The SEGA Game Gear Micro comes in four color versions, each with different games.

- Sonic the Hedgehog
