SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD

Western Digital today announced the SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD and SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD. Both these portable SSDs are built to keep up with today’s high-quality content demands, and are now available in Malaysia.

“When every second counts, I need fast and powerful solutions that work as quickly as I do. I rely on SanDisk SSDs to keep up with my creativity,” “As an artist, speed is one of my greatest strengths, and I know with the SanDisk Extreme line of SSDs, I can get the job done with greater efficiency and capacity, and I never have to worry about running out of memory wherever the job takes me.”Tyler Stableford, SanDisk Extreme Team member

The SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD helps you save time with its NVMe SSD performance, capable of delivering up to 2,000MB/s read and up to 2,000MB/s write speeds. The chassis is made out of forged aluminium, and that itself acts as a heatsink to keep it cool while transferring data at high speeds.

For safety, the SanDisk Extreme PRO Portable SSD is able to withstand a 2-meter drop, and it has an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance. When digital security comes to mind, the Sandisk Extreme PRO is also capable of 256-bit AES hardware encryption. This allows users to keep their private content private with upgraded password protection.

As for the SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD, this is the non PRO variant of the SSD mentioned above. It also uses NVMe SSD, but its performance is almost halved when it comes to read and write speeds – 1,050MB/s and 1,000MB/s respectively.

Just like the PRO variant, the SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD can also survive a 2-meter drop and has an IP55 water and dust resistance rating. The exterior of the SSD is also made out of durable silicone shell which offers a premium feel, while protecting the outside of the drive. Security wise, it also features the 256-bit hardware encryption.

Ready to move, consumers can use the handy carabiner loop to secure the drives to a belt loop or backpack for extra peace of mind. The new drives are compatible with PC and Mac computers. In addition to moving content to a PC or laptop, the new products also now allow users to back up mobile content quickly and easily thanks to compatibility with a range of USB Type-C™ smartphones.
