Standard monitors have a refresh rate of 60Hz, but ASUS and Nvidia has collaborated on releasing a gaming monitor with 360Hz – the ASUS ROG Swift 360Hz.
Monitors have gone past the 60Hz refresh rate standard, as we see more and more 120Hz, 144Hz, and 240Hz monitors becoming more commonplace in the market. The ROG Swift 360Hz is a new display that features a 24.5-inch panel from AU Optronics that has a Full HD resolution. ASUS hasn’t mentioned what type of panel is being used (IPS, VA etc), but since it’s made with NVIDIA, it has native support for G-Sync variable refresh rate technology.
ASUS has said that the 360Hz refresh rate on the ROG Swift monitor “provides an unprecedented level of clarity, smoothness, and responsiveness. The company has also said that the monitor is aimed at the eSports market, giving it the “eSports Monitor” moniker by ASUS and NVIDIA.
No pricing or availability information has been revealed about the ASUS ROG Swift 360Hz as of this article. However, one thing to note from the reveal of such a monitor, could be the foreshadowing of a new wave of graphics card that can actually deliver the 360Hz refresh rate.
