Announced back in February, the realme X50 Pro 5G is finally coming to Malaysian soil on the 6th of July 2020. It’s coming with 5G connectivity, Snapdragon’s latest 865 chip, and a 90Hz refresh rate.

To recap, the Realme X50 Pro 5G has Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 865 processor, which has dual-mode 5G (SA/NSA) networking already built right in. It is also paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to dual-channel UFS 3.0 256GB of storage.
As for its display, it features a 6.44-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display that has a 90Hz refresh rate (180Hz sampling rate). That’s a 92% screen-to-body ration with 1000 nits peak brightness on the X50 Pro 5G. Apart from that, it also supports HDR10+.
The realme X50 Pro 5G also comes with a highly efficient VC cooling system that consists of a upper double-layer graphite film, vapor chamber, thermal conductive gel, multilater copper foil, and a bottom double-layer graphite film.
In the camera department, the realme X50 Pro 5G has a total of six cameras from both the front and the rear. The rear setup consists of:
- 64MP f/1.17 – Main Sensor
- 12MP – Telephoto Sensor (20x Hybrid Zoom)
- 8MP – Ultra-wide and Macro Sensor
- 2MP f/2.4 – Portrait Sensor
As for the front, there are two cameras housed in a dual punch-hole notch on the top left of the display. The selfie cameras are also capable of UIS stabilisation and slow-mo selfies, like the one on the iPhone 11 series. You would be taking selfies with the:
- 32MP f/2.0 – Main Sony IMX616 Sensor
- 8MP f/2.2 – 105-degree Wide Sensor
Powering the device is a 4,200mAh battery that supports SuperDart 65W fast charging. With that, it could charge from 0 to 100% in just 35 minutes. Apart from that, the device runs on Realme UI that is based on Android 10, complete with USB Type-C connectivity, as well as an in-display fingerprint sensor. It also has a super linear speaker design, dual GPS system as well.
Pricing and Availability

The Realme X50 Pro 5G will only be launching on the 6th of July 2020 via a Facebook livestream at 11AM on realme Malaysia’s Facebook page. Stay tuned to The AXO for pricing and availability details on that day. That being said, in the social posting’s caption, realme did put a questionable comment “price from RM2,799?” Yeah, we’ll see about that.
According to this Lazada banner, it seems the device will be available from 7th July at 12AM, priced at RM2,999:

There is also a Master Edition for the Realme X50 Pro 5G, but there is no word on whether the Red Brick and Concrete colourways will come during the launch.
