While CES 2020 is ongoing, realme is ready to announce the realme X50 5G in China. The smartphone will be the company’s first foray into the 5G era and will offer some hardcore specs, hopefully with a great price to compete with.
Running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G based on the 7nm process technology, the realme X50 supports 5G connectivity without any additional modules. Paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the X50 has a 6.57-inch FHD+ display with a refresh rate of 120Hz (90.48% screen-to-body ratio), protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
In the camera department, the realme X50 5G has a rear quad camera system consisting of a:
- 64MP main sensor
- 12MP telephoto sensor
- 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor
- 2MP macro sensor
On the top left of the front display, you’d be getting a 16MP main selfie sensor and an 8MP wide angle sensor housed in a cutout notch. In terms of video, the realme X50 5G is capable of UIS Max stabilisation, Portrait Mode, Ultra-Wide angle video, as well as 960fps slow-motion videos.
Powering the device is a 4,200mAh battery that supports 30W VOOC fast charging. Taking a different approach to biometrics this time, the fingerprint sensor has now been integrated into the power button itself.
In addition to that, realme has also announced the new realme UI, which will make its global debut in the realme X50 5G. The company has also mentioned that other realme smartphones will be getting the realme UI update, but at a later date.
