The Realme 7 5G variant made its debut in Malaysia, making it the second 5G smartphone from realme. It is also the first device in Malaysia to feature the new MediaTek Dimensity 800U chip. The launch event saw the unveiling of the new phone, as well as the upgraded features the phone has over the 4G variant of the realme 7.

The realme 7 5G now runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 800U chip, instead of the MediaTek Helio G95 processor on the 4G variant. Storage and RAM wise, it features 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1-based storage. For its graphics chip, it runs on the Mali-G57 MC3 processor.
In terms of display, the Realme 7 has the same 6.5-inch FHD+ display, but now comes complete with a higher 120Hz refresh rate. In the camera department, the 64MP Sony IMX682 main sensor has been swapped for a 48MP sensor, while the 8MP Ultra wide-angle sensor, 2MP BnW Portrait sensor, and 2MP macro sensor remains the same.
When it comes to connectivity, it has Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and a triple card slot system that handles 2 SIMs and 1 microSD card. Battery wise, the Realme 7 has a larger 5,000mAh battery that supports 30W Dart Charge via USB Type-C, as well as the new reverse charging feature. The Realme 7’s thickness is measured thinner at 9.1mm, weighing 195g. It runs on Realme UI, which is based on Android 10.
Pricing And Availability
The realme 7 5G will be priced at RM1,299, and can be purchased from realme’s official store on Lazada on the 18th of December 2020. With each purchase, you will get a free realme Hipster pouch, limited edition realmeow badge, and an extra one year warranty. As for customers who prefer to get it from physical stores, you may do so from the 25th of December 2020 at all authorized realme dealers nationwide. Do note that purchasing from a dealer will get you pouch and realmeow badge, but you won’t be able to enjoy the extra one-year warranty.
