Realme 5i and Realme Buds Air Officially Debut in Malaysia

realme 5i

Realme’s first smartphone to kick off the year 2020 is a budget smartphone in the form of the Realme 5i. Alongside the toned down version of the Realme 5, we also get the launch of Realme Buds Air, a pair of TWS earbuds.

Realme 5i

The Realme 5i is running on a mid-range Snapdragon 665 AIE, coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Keeping the device powered is a 5,000mAh battery that unfortunately doesn’t support fast charging. However, realme has embedded a reverse charge function. With the right cable, you can use the Realme 5i as a powerbank. On the front, you’d have a 6.5-inch HD+ display, as well as an 8MP selfie camera on the top.

In the camera department, the Realme 5i does have a quad camera system consisting of a 12MP wide-angle main sensor, 8MP ultra wide-angle lens, 2MP portrait lens, as well as a 2MP macro lens. Connectivity wise, the Realme 5i has a microUSB port instead of a USB Type-C port. It also has a 3-card slot for users to use two SIM cards and a microSD card (expandable up to 256GB) at the same time.

The Realme Buds Air features a custom-designed R1 chip that provides low-latency performance as well as support for Bluetooth 5.0. The earbuds are packed with 12mm audio drivers, touch-based controls on the side, and even a dual-mic driven environment noise cancellation technology with optical sensors.

This allows for the earbuds to detect whether or not they are in use, in turn saving you battery life. It does support Qi wireless charging of up to 10W, and it can deliver up to 3 hours of playback, 17 hours when used with the wireless charging case.
