Acer just announced the new Porsche Design Acer Book RS, where the two companies have come together to fuse their expertise in both design and mobile computing performance. This collaboration has resulted in a high-end notebook that is built with the latest hardware encased in a minimalist design.
Porsche Design Acer Book RS
The main highlight of the Porsche Design Acer Book RS is its design, so let’s talk about that first. It’s made entirely out of metal, yet it feels super light, and that is thanks to the carbon fiber cover which is on the top of the chassis. The 3K carbon fiber cover is accompanied with the diamond-cut CNC-machined chassis. The covers are connected by a unibody hinge that would elevate the laptop slightly when you open it. This improves the typing experience, as well as cooling as there’s more space for air to enter/exit the laptop.
Co-engineered with Intel, the Porsche Design Acer Book RS runs with up to Intel’s latest 11th gen Core i7 processors, paired with an Nvidia GeForce MX350 GPU as well as 16GB of RAM.
Of course, it includes the Intel Evo platform, that means it has more consistent responsiveness on battery, instant wake, fast charging, and more. All that, packed into a beautifully designed laptop that weighs only 1.2KG light.
As for the battery life, according to Acer, it can last for up to 17 hours on a single charge. With the fast charging technology, a 30-minute charge would also give you 4 hours of usage, which is actually not bad.
The Porsche Design Acer Book RS isn’t the only thing that came out of this collaboration, the laptop also has accompanying accessories to go with it, and they are also designed by Porsche Design.
There’s the Porsche Design Acer Travelpack RS, which includes a leather mousepad, a wireless mouse, a textured fabric notebook sleeve, and a leather carrying pouch. The pouch is made from ECCO®️ PALERMO XA Leather, a durable material that is pleasant to the touch and glistens with a subtle shine.
