Nvidia has unveiled its newest product in the form of a mobile GPU called the “GeForce MX450“. Interestingly, the unveiling was done in a rather silent manner, with no known laptop manufacturer officially announcing new notebooks that will feature the new Nvidia mobile GPU at the time of writing. That said, we do expect this to change in the coming weeks.
Nvidia Unveils GeForce MX450 Graphics Chip
Oddly enough, Nvidia made no mention of the base and boost clock speeds of the new MX450 graphics chip on its official website. Despite this, one major aspect of this new mobile GPU is the fact that it comes with PCI Express 4.0 support. Why is this major you ask? Because it seems that this is the first GeForce graphics card to have PCI Express 4.0 support—not even current RTX graphics cards have this.
Another specification that was revealed by Nvidia with regards to the MX450 mobile GPU is the GDDR5 or GDDR6 memory controller option. Whilst not explicitly stated, the aforementioned graphics chip may be based off of Nvidia’s Turing GPU architecture. Regardless, we’ll be sure to keep you updated should more information regarding the MX450 is announced in the coming weeks.
