Rather surprisingly, Nvidia has revealed the Malaysian pricing of its RTX 30 series graphics card. This announcement was made just after the company had officially announced its newest lineup of GeForce graphics cards: RTX 3090, RTX 3070 and RTX 3070.
Nvidia RTX 30 Series Graphics Cards Malaysian Pricing
The most affordable GeForce Ampere-based graphics card by Nvidia is the RTX 3070, which comes with a price tag of RM2,399. This price point is indeed interesting given the fact that the RTX 3070 is (on paper) more powerful compared to the older RTX 2080 Ti—which is currently still being sold above RM5,000 locally. Nvidia stated that this graphics card will be made available sometime in October.
Next up is the RTX 3080. This graphics card will be made available from 17th September, and will cost RM3,360. Upon looking at the early benchmarks, it seems that the RTX 3080 is around 70-80% more powerful compared to the older RTX 2080 Ti—I offer my sincere sympathy for those who have bought a RTX 2080 Ti recently.
Finally, the most powerful Ampere-based graphics card, the RTX 3090, will be made available locally starting from 24th September. Knowing how this graphics card is a bit of an ‘overkill’ for gaming, it’s not surprising to know that it comes with a eye-watering price tag of RM7,208. This graphics card is aimed towards gamers wanting to play 4K@120Hz or 8K@60Hz.
It should be noted, however, that the pricing provided by Nvidia are for the Founders Edition (made by Nvidia). We expect other board partners to unveil their custom RTX 30 series graphics cards and respective pricing in the coming days. Nevertheless, it seems that Nvidia’s RTX 30 series graphics cards are indeed priced rather competitively. This added with the fact that they significantly outperform the older RTX 20 series graphics cards, makes Nvidia’s RTX 30 series cards rather enticing.
