Game developer, Cold Symmetry, has recently announced that its upcoming game, Mortal Shell, will be available as open beta for all PC gamers to test. Describing the decision to release an open beta of the game, the developer stated that “we really didn’t want so many people to feel left out. We’re delighted to open the beta for everyone on PC, starting now.”
Mortal Shell PC Open Beta Now Available
For those who are interested, the open beta for Mortal Shell can be downloaded through the Epic Games store. Do keep in mind that the game is still in the beta phase, therefore only a limited amount of content will be made available, with a handful of bugs most likely. The open beta itself allows players to try out two Shells, which are Harros and Tiel, both with their own unique abilities.
Mortal Shell is heavily influenced by From Software’s Dark Souls games. A lot of the mechanics of the game is also influenced by Souls-like games, but with several unique features of its own. Judging from the initial reception by gamers who have tried it, it seems that the game is indeed promising—one which we are definitely looking forward to play once it’s released.
Mortal Shell will be released sometime in Q3 2020 on for the PC (Epic Store), PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Meanwhile, the game will eventually be released one year later on Steam in Q3 2021.
