A total of 55 teams, and 475+ players joined the tournament over 4 qualifying rounds. They went all in for their share of the RM7,000 prize pool, but only 8 teams could make it to the semi-finals. When it comes down to the final day, three teams – Team Terbang, Juana Clan, and Purge Revamp – went head to head to clinch the main prize. Team Terbang put on a spectacular performance to succeed over Purge Revamp (1st Runner Up) and Honey Juana Clan (2nd Runner Up) and claim their trophy.
The Mobile Legends Summer Shield 2020 tournament reached out to over 158K+ social media users through its month-long campaign period, semi-final and finals’ livestream. The streams alone which were hosted on both Youtube and Facebook garnered over 42K views.
This is the first event where Playtonia went fully online, by using a Virtual Studio for the production. Partnering brands were added into the mix via engaging product placements and strategic activation. This is particularly useful for brands who would want to dip their toes into the niche eSports scene.
Some of the sponsors for Mobile Legends Summer Shield 2020 include:

This isn’t the last we’ll see of Playtonia as the company will continue on with its strong efforts with the Community Cup initiative. In the coming months, fans and gamers alike can expect games such as Brawl Stars and Clash Royale to be added to the existing lineup of games such as PUBG, CODM, Free Fire, and more.
Playtonia believes that the two new games being added are still very much untapped, even though it has such a strong community in both Malaysia and the SEA region. Those who would like to venture into the world of eSports, but don’t know where to start, Playtonia Malaysia should be your first line of contact.
