Microsoft has announced quite a few new products, and this includes the Surface Book 3. This is the third generation model in the Surface Book lineup, and it still features the detachable form factor with powerful new hardware from Intel and Nvidia.
Microsoft Surface Book 3
According to Microsoft, the Surface Book 3 has 50% more performance in power as compared to its predecessor – the Surface Book 2. Coming in two sizes, the Surface Book 3 has a 13.5-inch and 15-inch variants. Powered by the 10th Gen Intel Core processors, the 13.5-inch variant is packed with an Intel Core i5-1035G7 chip as standard. Of course, customers can ramp it up by customising it with a more powerful Intel Core i7-1065G7, which is already the default chip in the 15-inch variant.
For graphics, the 13.5-inch model sports an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Max-Q graphics and 4GB of GDDR5 VRAM, while the 15-inch model gets the Nvidia GeForce GTX1660Ti Max-Q and 6GB GDDR6 VRAM. Some would be happy to know that the 15-inch Surface Book 3 can also be equipped with an Nvidia Quadro RTX 3000 graphics.
In terms of storage, both laptops can be fitted with up to 1TB of SSD space (2TB for United States). Microsoft claims that the 13.5-inch Surface Book 3 can last up to 15.5 hours whereas the 15-inch model can last up to 17.5 hours. These test numbers were measured with the laptop’s keyboard base attached.
Pricing and Availability
At the time of writing, there is no pricing or availability information made available for the Surface Book 3 in Malaysia. However, its pricing in the US will start from USD$ 1,599.99, and will be released on the 21st of May.
