The Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 integrates two displays into an ultraslim form factor for a gaming machine. The main display is a 15.6-inch Pantone validated display that supports Microsoft Hybrid Graphics and G-Sync switching. You can either opt for the 4K UHD IPS panel which has a 60Hz refresh rate that supports Adobe 100%, or go full bonkers with the FHD IPS 300Hz refresh rate panel that supports sRGB 100%.
ROG ScreenPad Plus
Below the main display you will find an additional display called the ROG ScreenPad Plus. It is a 14.09-inch UHD IPS display, with a 60Hz refresh rate and support for NTSC 72%. Oh, did we mention? The secondary display is indeed touchscreen.
How it’s different from the one on the ZenBook Pro Duo is that when you open up the laptop, it automatically tilts up at a 13-degree angle for more comfortable viewing. The hinge is built directly into curved sliders that delay deployment of the secondary display.
Asus has worked with game developers like Techland to optimize the ScreenPad Plus for its latest AAA game title, Dying Light 2. This would move co-op chats to the second screen, add touchscreen controls for easy switching between inventory items and quests. Their collaboration with Overwolf would also help players download apps for games like League of Legends, Fortnite, and CS:GO that allows gamers to see real-time stats, build recommendations, and more. Apart from that, content creators can also make use of the ScreenPad Plus to manage their timelines and reference materials better.
Powered by the latest 10th generation Intel Core processors, the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 is also paired with the Nvidia GeForce RTX2080 Super GPU for improved graphics performance. Thanks to the Active Aerodynamic System (AAS) technology and ROG Boost, the GPU is able to hit a peak clock speed as high as 1330MHz in Turbo mode.
It is also fitted with 3200MHz RAM that supercedes the old 2666MHz standard. Not only that, the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 also has two NVMe PCIe x4 SSDs running in RAID 0 to provide faster read write speeds. Players can fit the laptop with up to 48GB of RAM, and 2TB of NVMe storage. Did you see from the spec sheet that there’s Thunderbolt 3 as well?
Battery wise, the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 has a 90Wh battery that can be charged via USB Power Delivery. That means it can be charged with a 65W USB Type-C adapter that is much smaller than regular charging adapters.
Connectivity wise, the Asus ROG Zephyrus Duo 15 features the latest Wi-Fi 6 technology, giving it even higher speeds when paired with a compatible Wi-Fi router. Otherwise, it will still push out maximum speeds on a Wi-Fi 5 router.
