This is the Maybank Grab Mastercard Platinum Credit Card, a collaboration between Maybank and Grab. Now listed on Maybank’s official website, the special Maybank Grab Mastercard Platinum Credit Card is a mobile-first card that offers users rewards points when they spend with the Grab app, as well as exclusive incentives.
Maybank Grab Mastercard Platinum Credit Card
Finally, a physical credit card now exists for Grab with its service provided by Maybank. Available in two colours – black and white, the credit card is unique in the sense that it only has three elements on the front of the card – the Grab logo, the Paywave icon, and the chip. On the back, there’s the Maybank and Mastercard logo, with the “platinum” wording.
In terms of benefits, users will be able to receive rewards based on their spending within the Grab app itself. Here is the full list of rewards:
- 5X GrabRewards: For every RM1 transaction spend on Grab
- 2X GrabRewards: For every RM1 transaction spend overseas, cross-border, and e-commerce
- 1X GrabRewards: For every RM3 spend in Malaysia (excluding any Grab and e-commerce transactions)
- 1,000 Welcome GrabRewards Points Upon Card Activation
- Lifetime Fee Waiver
- 5 x RM5 GrabRide and GrabFood Vouchers
Cardholders will also automatically be upgraded to the Platinum tier Grab membership for 6 months. Users just need to spend the required amount to retain their Platinum membership status.
To sign up for the Maybank Grab Mastercard Platinum Credit Card, you will need to be a Malaysian between ages 21 to 65 years old, who has a minimum annual income of RM36,000.
If you are a salaried employee, you will need:
- Copy of NRIC (both sides)
- Latest 3 months’ salary slips
- Latest 6 months’ savings account activity/current account statements
If you are self-employed:
- Copy of NRIC (both sides)
- Income Tax Return (Form B/Latest EA form)
- Copies of Business Registration Certificate/Trading License/ Form 9, Form 24, Form 49
- Latest 6 months’ company/personal Bank Statements
