Huawei has just announced its latest addition to the MateBook laptops portfolio here in Malaysia – Huawei MateBook D 15. According to the company, Malaysia is the first market to obtain this version of the MateBook outside of China.
Specifications
Instead of launching it with an Intel Core processor, the company has decided to go with a Ryzen and Radeon system instead. The MateBook D 15 features an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor, which has an integrated AMD Radeon Vega 8 graphics system. It is also packed with 8GB of DDR 2400MHz RAM, a 256GB NVMe PCIe solid state drive, as well as a 1TB hard disk drive.
The laptop weighs a mere 1.53KG and features a dual-purpose USB Type-C port. It can either be used to charge the laptop with the provided 65W charger, or used for data transfer. In just 30 minutes, the laptop’s 42Whr battery can be charged from 0% to 53% in just 30 minutes.
Connectivity wise, the MateBook D 15 has two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 port, a HDMI port, as well as a 3.5mm audio jack. Not only that, there’s also a fingerprint scanner on the top right side of the laptop. Much like the other MateBooks, Huawei’s D15 will also have the pop-up webcam, along with support for the Huawei Share technology – letting users seamlessly share their screen and files with their Huawei smartphones.

It’s great to see Huawei offering such a great laptop with great affordability that combines some of their more useful mobile features with the MateBook D 15.
