The LG Velvet smartphone has officially been launched. As a surprise, the smartphone comes with support for Wacom stylus. This pits the LG Velvet against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Note as the stylus that is included also has support for 4,096 pressure-sensitive levels. That being said, the stylus is an added accessory and unlike the Galaxy Note series, it won’t have a space to pocket it within the phone.
LG Velvet – Specifications
The LG Velvet has a 6.8-inch POLED screen with FHD+ resolution. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, it is coupled with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of UFS 2.1-based storage. As for its camera, it has a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor, as well as a 5MP depth sensor. There is no optical zoom support on the LG Velvet’s cameras. On the front, you will a 16MP selfie sensor and the phone is running on a 4,300mAh battery.
For protection, the LG Velvet supports IP68 dust and water resistance, while passing the MIL-STD 810G certification test to ensure its endurance.
Not only that, the LG Velvet retains the 3.5mm audio jack. Just like the LG V60 ThinQ that was previously launched, the secondary screen accessory will also be bundled right out of the box. As most other smartphones do, the phone also has an under-display fingerprint sensor. What’s unique with this phone is, that it has two special features – ASMR sound recording mode, as well as Steadycam video stabilisation.
Pricing and Availability
Currently, the LG Velvet can only be purchased in South Korea, with the price of KRW 899,800. That’s approximately RM3,200. There is no word on whether the device will be made available in Malaysia, but we’ll definitely keep you updated if it does.
