The Lenovo x Ducati Partnership was announced back in March 2018, where Lenovo became the official premier technology partner and MotoGP sponsor for the Ducati Corse team. After the first MotoGP season spent together, the companies decided to extend the partnership to run through to the end of 2021. The renewal also included updated licensing agreement, a brand update to all MotoGP assets available, as well as an advancement in IT and digital security capabilities on and off the track. Lenovo will also be including their partnership with Ducati into their mid-terms plans for 2021.
Lenovo X Ducati

Lenovo, as a technology player, competes in a very competitive global market, and with MotoGP, it’s a huge racing sport that is watched by many around the world. Apart from partnering up for brand exposure and awareness, it gives Lenovo the opportunity to showcase its wide range of products like desktop PCs, laptops, tablets, and more to a global audience who are interested in technology. Both these companies aim to provide its customers the best experience in terms of performance, style, and sophistication.
To be more competitive, Ducati has gone through a long list of benchmarking process to determine which hardware would perform the best for the Ducati racing team, catering to both their clients and servicing team. Some of the objectives for Ducati from this partnership is to get the best technology and solutions from Lenovo. This will help Ducati obtain the best tools to better offer improved services to the internal business and research and development team.
To stand out from the competition, Ducati is working with Lenovo on the race track to help them secure the win. The racing team has always been focused on the electronic and data analysis part of the race. Thriving on their engineering, Ducati has chosen the right partner for them to record, analyze, and share their data for further performance improvements.
One of the first Lenovo and Ducati licensed products to come out of this partnership was the Lenovo Ducati 5 laptop, which was announced back in January of 2020 at CES. The special limited edition laptop was made for all the Ducati fans around the world, to offer them a fast and reliable laptop for their daily usage. It represents the partnership of these two companies, on and off the track, to offer the best experience to both their customers. A new co-branded product may be in the works, so we’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled for that.
Every aspect that Ducati has developed for their motorcycles are using Lenovo’s technology. This includes Ducati’s high performance computer cluster, headquarter data center, data recovery center, and even client’s mobile workstation. From this technology adoption, Ducati has been faster in collecting data, and deploying their services to their internal team and external clients. On top of that, they’ve managed to reduce the footprint of their data centers, and their infrastructure on the race track.
Ducati has implemented many Lenovo laptops and workstation in their performance tracking. The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 has been used by their electronic track engineer and technical staffs, mainly for data analysis. When it comes to the top management, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon is used when it comes to productivity meetings. On the track, Ducati has been using Lenovo’s pro workstations linked to Lenovo’s high performance servers for those night-long analysis. In the headquarters, there is also Lenovo’s high performance computer cluster that is used for deep simulations.
We are excited for Lenovo x Ducati’s continued partnership through the year 2021, and we hope to see Ducati emerge victorious in their races, as well as new co-branded consumer products launched by Lenovo x Ducati.
