Originally announced back in May 2019, Lenovo has finally announced everything you need to know about the ThinkPad X1 Fold. Holding the title of the world’s fist foldable PC, it took four years for Lenovo to create this machine.
Powered by an unnamed Intel Core processor that features Intel Hybrid Technology, the ThinkPad X1 Fold is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X-4267 RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe NVMe SSD. Its display is where it gets interesting. It has a 13.3-inch QXGA (2048 x 1536) resolution pOLED touch display, with brightness level of 300 nits as well as DCI-P3 coverage of 95%.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold just screams 2020 as it is 5G-ready and can be folded in various ways. Should the user wish to use it as a traditional laptop, they can make use of the integrated kickstand in the ThinkPad’s leather folio case.
When it comes to typing, users can choose to type on the lower part of the screen, or use the Bluetooth Mini Fold Keyboard. This Bluetooth keyboard can be stored within the X1 Fold itself and be wirelessly charged at the same time. Users can also pair their ThinkPad X1 with an active pen if they wish to use it as a tablet for drawing and etc.
Weighing just under 1KG, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold is powered by a 50Whr battery, capable of providing the device with up to 11 hours of battery life. On the top, users will also be getting a 5MP HD RGB infrared webcam. That would make it Windows Hello compatible for easier and faster sign-ins.
