The LEGO Nintendo NES is here to serve a little nostalgia to both fans of LEGO and the Nintendo NES. Retro gamers will be able to get their hands on the Nintendo NES set soon, as LEGO has announced that it will be arriving in Malaysia in the month of August.
LEGO Nintendo NES
LEGO previously teased the LEGO Nintendo NES set on its social media platforms, with leaked images of it surfacing not long after the announcement. Now that it has gone official, here’s a closer look at what the LEGO Nintendo NES will look like and what it has to offer.
This ins’t an actual playable NES console, but it looks almost exactly like it. The LEGO Nintendo NES building kit will come with a controller with a connecting cable and plug. On top of that, it will also have an opening slot for the included gaming cartridge. To top it all off, there is a replica of a buildable retro TV that has a flat 8-bit version of Mario on the interactive scrolling screen.
Remember when we said it’s not playable? That’s only partially correct. You can actually control Mario by using the crank that is located on the right side of the TV. Apart from that, you can also scan an action-included brick with the Mario figure from the LEGO Super Mario Starter Course set to watch it reach to on-screen enemies, obstacles, and power-ups.
Pricing and Availability
The LEGO Nintendo NES set will be released on the 1st of August 2020 in Malaysia, and you can purchase it directly from LEGO retail stores, certified retailers and LEGOLAND Malaysia. It is priced at RM949.90.
