To further motivate all Malaysian to keep staying at home after the announcement of the MCO extension, telco companies are offering free data. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Digi, Celcom, Maxis, Umobile, or Unifi customer, they’ve all got some special data offers for you.
Celcom
From Celcom, you can get free unlimited WhatsApp from 8am to 6pm. You’d also get unlimited access to Microsoft 365 from 8am to 6pm. Apart from that, you’d get unlimited quota for browsing on www.moh.gov.my and won’t be charged if you’re calling the country’s Crisis Preparedness Response Centre (03-88810200) and Movement Control Order Hotline (03-88882010).
Customers on the Mega Lightning and Mega Unlimited plans will have 50% unlimited Internet, and 50% family lines with MEGA respectively. These offers will only apply till the 31st of March 2020.
Digi
Postpaid users will get an additional 1GB of quota during the 8am to 6pm time window. As for prepaid users, should you reload above RM30, you will get 1GB extra data with 15 minutes of additional talktime. Reload any amount below RM30, you would receive 300MB data and extra 5 minutes talk time.
You also won’t be charged if you’re making calls to Majlis Keselamatan Negara, CPRC, or each state’s hotline numbers. You can also surf for free on Ministry of Health and Doctor on Call sites.
Maxis
Maxis users will get 3GB of free data, this applies to all Maxis, Hotlink Flex, and Maxis Business Postpaid users. They will also be able to use Skype, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams data free.
For Hotlink MU users, you’d be able to receive free 20GB of data. If you reload any amount, you can get a 30% cashback. Apart from that, Maxis customers can also surf eKelas Portal, government sites, and news sites data-free.
UMobile
UMobile postpaid users would basically get double everything on their hotspot quota. Users on the GX50, GX68, P99, and P139 postpaid plans will get double of their usual monnthly hotspot data.
Unifi
Last but not least, Unifi postpaid customers can enjoy 999GB of free data, with 10GB of LTE hotspot data quota. As for prepaid users, don’t worry you’re not left out because you’d get the BEBAS weekly Unlimited Data Pass. You can purchase this pass without any cost and you’re then able to surf the Internet entirely free for the rest of the week.
It doesn’t matter what you need to do at home, take advantage of these free data offers and use them for whatever you’d like. Be it gaming, working, conference calling, just stay home to do it.
