And so the leaks were indeed true. Google has officially announced its latest budget-oriented smartphone: the Pixel 4a. This particular smartphone, as its name implies, is the successor to the previous Pixel 3a smartphone. Interestingly, the new Google smartphone does come with appealing specifications and pricing.

When it comes to specifications, the Google Pixel 4a budget smartphone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor along with 6GB LPDDR4X RAM. Additionally, this smartphone is also fitted with a 5.81-inch FHD OLED display. Interestingly, Google’s newest smartphone currently only comes with 128GB storage capacity and one colour variant: Just Black.
It wouldn’t be a ‘true’ Pixel phone without a good camera, and the new Pixel excels in this department. It features a single 12.2MP rear camera along with a 8MP punch-hole front facing camera as well. Finally, the aforementioned smartphone is also bestowed with a 3,140mAH battery, which charges via USB-C (18W fast charging).
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like Google will be releasing the Pixel 4a official in Malaysia; at least not anytime soon. That being said, the company did mention that the smartphone will cost US$349 (RM1,474) in the US. So, if you’re in the market for a good budget smartphone with an awesome camera, do consider the Google Pixel 4a—but you have to get it through third-party means in Malaysia for the time being, unfortunately.
