The Huawei P40 series has just made its grand debut, presented by the Huawei Consumer Business Group’s CEO, Richard Yu. The P40 series takes the company’s next step in mobile photography to the next level, with beastly specs and a beefed up camera system. As usual, supported with Leica lenses.

Performance

The Huawei P40 series is of course running on the Kirin 990 5G chipset. Why is it running on last year’s chip? That’s because the Kirin 1000 series processor are kept for the Huawei Mate 40 series which are slated for a release later this year. It is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
Hey, Celia

Huawei also introduced its new assistant, Celia. It’s similar to Apple’s Siri or the Google Assistant, but it seems Huawei’s Celia is capable of deeper scanning and more contextual in controlling your smartphone.
Camera

In the camera department, Huawei made some huge improvements on the P40 series. This time, the company has opted for a 50MP main shooter which also uses the RYYB sensor.

There is also a feature called the Huawei Golden Snap, where the smartphone’s AI will help you determine which shot is the best after it takes a series of the phone when you press the shutter button. Also, there’s the AI Remove Passerby and AI Remove Reflection feature to do as its name suggests. It can remove passerby and reflections in your photos.
