Genshin Impact 1.1 Update: It’s Official And It’s Huge

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update

Ahhh, the Genshin Impact 1.1 Update everyone’s been waiting for. You’ve probably spent a lot of time on Genshin Impact by now, but still want more content, right? Well, you’ll be glad to know that the developers at Mihoyo are currently working on it, and here’s what we know about the big upcoming 1.1 Update, as it has now been officially announced!

Disclaimer: The Genshin Impact 1.1 Update is subject to change at Mihoyo’s discretion. But, we will update this article if there any changes. Also, the articles does contain SPOILERS, so please go back now if you don’t want to read any of them.

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update

First and foremost, the new Genshin Impact 1.1 Update will see the remaining parts of the Chapter 1 storyline in Liyue. The new story will also apparently have a new boss fight against, Childe. That’s right, that seemingly “friendly” Fatui member will be hiding in the Golden House, which is positioned south of Liyue, in a small new plot that will be added to the map. This boss fight will also be repeatable, just like the Boreas and Stormterror fight.

As for new World Quests, none has been confirmed thus far for any characters that are currently missing them.

Reputation System

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update: It's Official And It's Huge 15

This might be the biggest feature to be added into the new Genshin Impact 1.1 Update – Reputation System. Each region will have its own reputation system, and will come with its own special rewards. As you increase your reputation level by exploring and doing side quests, you can go for these new bounties and requests. To track your reputation progress, your map will also add a new completion percentage per area of the map.

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update Reputation System

There are bounties, weekly requests, world exploration completion, as well as Mondstadt and Liyue quests you could do. As you increase your reputation levels, you can obtain special namecards,

Increasing your reputation will unlock new features and benefits, profile cards, new cooking recipes, blacksmithing and alchemy recipes for brand new items listed in the new items section, but more on that later. As you reach level 8 of your reputation, you will receive a special new glider skin in Mondstadt and Liyue respectively.

New Features

On top of all that, Genshin Impact 1.1 Update will also have the new ability to lock weapons and artifacts so you don’t accidentally trash them. Nearly did that once (phew), so this is a good feature to have, honestly. There will be a new compendium which allows you to view info on the flora and faunas within Teyvat. For camera movement (it’s been shit for me on the PS4), there will be a camera lock setting so that it stops automatically zooming or rotating itself.

Don’t you just hate it when you’re leveling weapons and there’s an excess of EXP points that will go to waste and you don’t have smaller ores to make up for it? In the Genshin Impact 1.1 Update, you can apparently convert those excess EXP overflow into ores. As for the expedition system, you can both send characters on expedition, and be able to use them in combat (YES!).

Condensed Resin

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update

Can’t play for the day, but you don’t want your daily resin to go to waste? Meet the new Condensed Resin in Genshin Impact 1.1 Update. If you can’t make it for the day, you can just login quickly, and store your resin to be used later in the form of Condensed Resin. For domains, you can also spend 40 resin instead of 20 resin to get double the rewards. This means you only have to do a domain 3 times instead of 6, to use up all your resin for the day.

Converting your resin to Condensed Resin will consume two jade crystals, your amount of resin, and 200 gold. The daily resin cap in Genshin Impact 1.1 Update will also be increased from 120 resin to 160 resin.

New Characters

Zhongli

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update zhong li

Meet Zhongli, who is a 5-star Polearm user with the Geo element. His basic attacks with the polearm are uniquely animated, where you can see him stab his spear into the ground before kicking it back causing it to spin. As for his charged attacks, he will teleport forwards as energy spears rain in his path.

His elemental skill will see him create a monolith with an AOE (area of effect) damage when pressed, or cause a burst around him that destroys Geo element objects like shields or ores immediately when held. His elemental burst will summon a meteor which turns enemies into stone (same like the frozen effect). His abilities will scale based on his max HP, with a passive skills that returns 15% of ore used to craft polearms.

Tartaglia Childe

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update childe

Yep, Childe will also be a new character in the game, and he is a 5-star Bow user with the Hydro element. He has a standard basic and charge shot like Fischl and Amber. His elemental skill replaces his bow with a melee basic attack, which consists of a dual water knife and a water polearm in his combo. This skill has no cooldown, so you can easily switch between either of his basic attacks on the fly.

For his Elemental Burst, there will be two. With his bow, the burst will shoot a water shot that inflicts a special debuff on enemies and automatically refunds you some elemental energy. This will combo with his melee Elemental Burst, which is a big slice that consumes the previous debuff to do more damage than usual. As for his passive, he can increase the basic attack talent of everyone in the party by 1 level. Pretty sick passive, if you ask me.

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update childe boss form

Childe will also become a new weekly boss you can take on, alongside Stormterror and Boreas. Check out his new form, but what intrigues us more is what made him like this.

Xinyan

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update Xinyan

Xinyan is a 4-star character who uses a Claymore with the Pyro element. Being a rock star from Liyue, she has a standard basic attack string. Her elemental skill will see her swinging her guitar (with a blade on it), and the more people she hits with the swing, the stronger the shield she gets, and this also scales with her DEF.

As for her Elemental Burst, she creates a sound shockwave around her, creating knockback and sets the ground on fire, like a rockstar would. Her passive however, gives her a 12% chance to gain double result from cooking DEF boosting food.

Diona

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update Diona

Diona is a 4-star character who uses a Bow with the Cryo element. She’s the daughter of Draff from Springvale, and she works at the Cat’s Tail in Mondstadt as a waitress. She has a standard basic attack string. Her Elemental Burst involves her tossing an iced drink like molotov that both damages the enemies and heals your teammate within the AOE on the ground. No elemental skill has been revealed yet, but the icon does show a paw print inside of a bubble with a pair of cat ears. So, maybe it has something to do with a cat?

New Wish Event Banners

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update zhongli banner

It’s most likely that Xiao and Zhongli will be the 2 banners featured in the Genshin Impact 1.1 Update. In the Zhongli banner, there’s an increased drop rate for Zhongli and Ningguang, both Geo users.

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update xiao banner

And for Xiao’s banner, there’s an increased drop rate for Xiao and Xingqiu. We’ve also covered a rather full “timetable” of upcoming character banners, you can check it out here.

New Items

New Weapons

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update new items

There will be five new 5-star weapons in Genshin Impact 1.1 Update, 3 of which can be seen from the top right section of the image above. All 5 of these new items will have the same ability of increasing defense and attack upon hitting an enemy within a max of 5 stacks.

Portable Teleport Waypoints

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update portable teleport waypoints

You read that right, you can now place this portable teleport waypoint anywhere on the map in Genshin Impact 1.1 Update. It will stay there for a maximum of 7 days before disappearing. No mention if there’s a cost for this yet, or a permanent feature.

Wind Catchers

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update anemo bottle

The newWind Catchers in Genshin Impact 1.1 Update lets you store Anemo wisps so you can release them anywhere you want for updrafts. This is the closest you can get to Venti’s Elemental Skill, and extremely helpful when you need to reach those Anemoculus/Geoculus that are positioned higher up where a normal jump can’t reach.

NRE (Nutrition, Ready-To-Eat) Meal-In-A-Pouch

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update food bag

The NRE Food Bag allows you to hotkey 2 food items you eat the most together. It will also automatically refill itself until you run out of that type of food. The Food Bag icon will also show the two buffs you get from those foods you consume.

Portable Cooking Pot

The Condensed Resin wasn’t introduced in the official livestream.

Need something whipped up quickly, but no cooking pot anywhere near you? Introducing the Portable Cooking Pot in Genshin Impact 1.1 Update. Basically, this lets you cook anywhere.

Anemoculus/Geoculus Resonance Stone

Also pictured above is the new Anemoculus/Geoculus Resonance Stone. The stones let you track down Anemoculus and Geoculus, while the compasses help you track down chests. Do note that these stones are single-use, and you will have to craft them at a crafting station.

Requirements:

  • Anemoculus Stone: 10 x Dandelion Seeds, 10 x Cecelia, 2 x Crystal Chunk, 1,000 Mora

Referral Event

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update referral event

In the Genshin Impact 1.1 Update, you can now get Mora by referring people and get Primogems when they reach Adventure Rank 15. Players who are under Adventure Rank 7 can use someone’s referral code even if their account is already made.

You’ll receive 10K Mora when 1 person accepts your referral code. Subsequently, you’ll receive 60 Primogems for every person under your referral code to reach Adventure Rank 15 (Max 3 ppl).

Food Delivery Event

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update food delivery event

To earn some Primogems, you can enter this food delivery event by gliding. Each specific item has its own reward. Once you complete the set of 3, you are given a new item to deliver.

Gliding Event

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update gliding event

There will be a total of 7 racetracks to compete in. You will be scored based on both completion time and will gain bonus points by collecting tokens along the entire track. Bronze, silver, and gold medals will all give different rewards separately.

Unreconciled Star Event

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update - Unreconciled Star Event

Not much details have been shared about this event, but by participating in this three part event, you can gain shards which you can use at the event shop for a limited time. Not all rewards are shown here, as you can also get elemental crystals for character ascension and a free Fischl.

Final Words

Genshin Impact 1.1 Update new character Yaoyao dendro

That is all the info we have on the upcoming Genshin Impact 1.1 Update. Pretty huge, right? It’s coming in just three weeks’ time, which is on the 11th of November!

And as far as the 1.1 update go, Update 1.2 will be opening up the Dragonspine mountain area between Mondstadt and Liyue, whereas the 1.3 update will focus on the Lantern Festival in Liyue. As for the Inazuma region, you will need to expect it from 1.4 update onwards. As for future characters, this official artwork shows a Dendro character called Yaoyao.
