Garmin Malaysia today announced the Garmin vívofit jr. 3, which is a junior fitness tracker where Icons and a variety of character images pop up on color display. Collaborating with Disney and Marvel, these watches feature a modernised adult design that comes in Black Panther, Iron Man, Disney Princess and Disney The Little Mermaid-themed colours.

Beyond adding a healthy structure to a child’s daily routine, the watch also motivates them to meet their daily activity goals. The Garmin vívofit jr. 3 also allows parents to assign chores for their children, adding fun to chores as a form of exercise for little ones.

The Garmin vívofit jr. 3 can track steps, sleep, and daily recommended activity minutes. Using the interactive Garmin Jr. mobile companion app, kids can meet their daily activity goals by unlocking new levels. There’s also a downloadable time screens and an “in case of emergency” widget that displays contact information. These timed activities allow kids to track steps and estimated distance during playtime, sports practice and more and view their activity later in the Garmin Jr. app.
The Garmin vívofit jr. 3 watch also encourages friendly, whole family competition with Toe-to-Toe step challenges. The Kid-tough etched band is available in both character-inspired designs and colorful Garmin designs. Not only that, it’s also swim-friendly with a battery life of up to one year, no recharging needed.
For parents, they can view their child’s activity, sleep, chore data and more. A great way to tell whether to cut back on screen time, adjust bedtimes, balance responsibilities between siblings and more. They can also assign chores and schedule alerts which show up as icons on the display, letting kids who can’t read know what they need to be doing. These chores can be set up to recur weekly or daily to help kids learn about schedules and responsibility.
Parents can also encourage good behavior with virtual coins that can be redeemed by children for agreed-upon rewards. There’s also a “Kid Mode” in the Garmin Jr. app to allow children limited access to monitor and check off their own chores and to view the latest mission in their app adventure.
