Garmin introduces the Garmin Venu SQ and Venu SQ Music Edition. Just after we reviewed the Garmin Venu, there’s now a new edition with two models to boot. These smartwatches are now available for purchase in the Malaysian market.
Garmin Venu SQ
The Venu SQ and its Music Edition watches has a square body with an aluminium frame, unlike the standard Garmin Venu. The straps are made of silicone, and its screen is a 1.3-inch touchscreen display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. There are two buttons on the side, and according to Garmin, the battery can last up to 14 hours with GPS on. However, in watch mode, these smartwatches are expected to last up to 6 days before needing a recharge.
When it comes to smartwatch features, the Garmin Venu SQ has multiple sensors for monitoring your heart rate, sleep, as well as of activity reminders.

There are also smart notifications, where you can receive emails, texts, and notifications right from the watch itself. Paired with an Android smartphone, you can also reply to those texts from the watch. The watch also has live location tracking and built-in incident detection. To further expand the watch’s capabilities, you can also connect to the Connect IQ Store to download apps, widgets, and watch faces.
For the fitness buff, both the Venu SQ and Venu SQ Music Edition has more than 20 functions for indoor and outdoor sports. These activities include swimming, yoga, and more.
To keep up with entertainment needs, the Venu SQ Music Edition will come with additional support for music playback. Hence, the name. There are extra music playback features like on-device storage for music, and support for Spotify playback.
