Grab has announced that all of its services (including GrabFood) in Malaysia will remain operational throughout the restrictive movement period. The announcement came after the Malaysian Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin has announced a Movement Control Order from the 18th to 31st of March 2020. This was done due to the rapid outbreak of the Coronavirus in Malaysia.

Grab Services isn’t just limited to its transportation services, but it also includes:

  • GrabFood
  • GrabMart
  • GrabExpress

Here is Grab’s full official announcement on the issue:

Given that the Restrictive Movement Order that was announced by PM Muhyiddin Yassin last night is essentially not a curfew or full lockdown directive, there is a high chance that restaurants are still open which allow GrabFood to be operational. That being said, the announcement last night was quite general in nature and need some additional clarifications.

Seeing how everyone is required to stay home for two weeks, Grab’s services could prove useful to those who have limited space to cook at home, or couldn’t get their groceries in time.

The AXO would like to advise everyone to stay calm and don’t panic throughout the restrictive movement order. Godspeed, everyone.
