Canon has announced a brand new camera offering called the “EOS R5.” It’s a mirrorless camera that is capable of recording 8K 12-bit RAW videos and comes with an in-built stabilisation system. This new mirrorless camera also comes with a plethora of features that is aimed towards providing pro-level photography and video.
Canon EOS R5 Mirrorless Camera
Specification-wise, the Canon EOS R5 is also equipped with a 45-megapixel sensor, which has a native ISO range of 100-51,200 (up to 102,400). As mentioned earlier, this new mirrorless camera is also capable of recording 8K 12-bit RAW video at 29.97 fps; along with un-cropped 4K DCI at 59.94 fps. To support 8K video storage, Canon’s new camera come with two SD card slots as well.
In terms of photography, the EOS R5’s 45-megapixel sensor is able to shoot photos at 12fps (mechanical shutter) and 20fps (electronic shutter). Additionally, this camera also comes with the Dual Pixel CMOS AF II autofocus system, which has 100% coverage and around 1,053 autofocus areas. Another notable feature of this camera is its fully-articulating display, which makes it suitable for vloggers as well.
When it comes to pricing, the Canon EOS R5 camera has a price tag of US$3,899 (around RM16,650) for just the body. Meanwhile, a combination of the camera and RF 24-105 F4 L IS USM lens comes in at a price of US$4,999 (about RM21,348).
